Assigning User Rights

Welcome to the Assigning User Rights demonstration.

If you would like to assign user rights to a user profile that has not yet been created, please refer to the Creating a New User demonstration.

To assign rights to an existing User, open the Users screen from the Administration menu.

Choose the User from the list and select the Edit the Current Record button.

From the Users screen, use the Change User Rights button to open the User Rights screen.

To see the HIFIS screens that you can add or remove rights to, select the Plus button beside HIFIS3 and then choose either the Main Tool Bar (which includes the Front Desk, Reports, Bulletins and Administration) or the Pull-Down Menus.

Anytime there is a Plus button beside a feature, the list of screens can be expanded. To hide the expanded list, select the Minus button.

Once you have found the appropriate screen, select its name to view a list of fields and activities in the right hand list.

If an option is highlighted red, it means that you must give a right to a feature in the list above it first or that the User’s User Type does not permit access to that feature.

Use the white box beside an option to select or deselect it. When there is a green dot in the box, it means that the user has that right.

To change multiple rights at once, use the Batch changes button found on the bottom right.

You can either give all rights for the selected screen or you can give all the rights that the selected user can have.

Select Yes to apply the changes.

Select the Blue Checkmark to save your changes.
