Creating a New User demonstration

Welcome to the Creating a New User Demonstration.
To add a new user profile to HIFIS, open the Users screen from the Administration menu.
Select the Add a New Record button.
In the User ID field, enter a unique ID that the individual will use to log in to HIFIS. This ID must be at least 5 characters long and cannot contain numbers or other characters. Select the blue checkmark to continue. Enter the user’s first and last names.
Select the User Type. By default, the user will have all the rights for the user type selected.
The User Rights screen opens. To change the default rights, select the plus signs to view the HIFIS screen names and activate / deactivate values by selecting the box beside each activity / field name. To change multiple rights at once, use the Batch changes menu found on the bottom right. Select the blue checkmark. If the user is a Caseworker as well, select the Caseworker checkbox.
Select the Assign User to Service Provider button. In the Service Providers screen, choose the service providers that the user will be able to record activities for, then use the Select button. You can also use the All button to choose all service providers. Select the blue checkmark. Then set the Default Service Provider. Only Service Providers chosen in the Service Provider screen will appear in this drop-down.
Select the Change Password button. The old password is ‘default.’ Enter the new password and then confirm it. If you do not change the new user’s password, they will be asked to do it the first time they log in. Select Save Changes.
In the Switches tab, select / deselect the options to fit the user’s preference. These can be changed at any time in the Manage My Profile screen.
To select the type of client records the user is able to view, select the appropriate options in the Visibility tab. You also have the option to complete the Contact and Comments tabs, as appropriate.
Select Save Changes.
