Welcome to the Homeless Individuals and Families Information System Buttons demonstration.

In this demonstration, you will learn about the most commonly used buttons in the software.

To begin, we will start with the toolbar found at the bottom of many screens in the software. We can see an example of this toolbar in the People screen.

This toolbar contains many of the buttons you will use every time you use the software.

The navigation buttons are used to easily move between records without having to go back to the List tab.

You can go to the First Record, Last Record, Previous Record, or the Next Record using these buttons.

The Add button allows you to create a new record in whichever screen you are using. This button will be found within screens when there is an option to add further information to that record.

For example, when adding a Vehicle to a person's profile, you must use the Add button.

The Edit button is used to open an existing record for editing. This button is only enabled in screens that allow information to be edited.

Once a record has been Added or Edited and all the mandatory fields filled, the Save Changes and Cancel Changes buttons become active.

Selecting the Save button will permanently change all information added or edited.

Therefore, it is important to verify that all the information entered into the record is accurate before using the Save Changes button.

Selecting the Cancel button will discard all newly-entered information.

Now let's look at two other common buttons you will encounter in the software.

Alongside many Date fields there is a calendar button.

Selecting this button will open a calendar from which you can choose the date to enter in the Date field.

You will also encounter the blue check mark button in your use of the software.

This button is used to confirm the values that have been entered in a given field.

This is the end of the Buttons demonstration.
