Working with Records

What is a record?

A group of related information that is captured and treated as a meaningful unit becomes a “record” when saved in the HIFIS database.

Did you know?
Information entered in a person’s first name field, last name field, date of birth field, phone number field and e-mail field is combined together to make a unique Person Record in the database.

Person First Name + Person Last Name + Person Date of Birth + Person telephone number + Person email address = Unique Person Record

It is possible to link records to each other to add even more meaning to a record. For example, a Person Record in HIFIS could be linked to a Client Record as a contact person.
