Creating a People Record Simulation

To enter text into a field, you must activate the field by selecting it with the mouse or pressing the space bar or Enter button on the keyboard. When you have finished inputting text, you must press Enter before you can move on to the next step.

In this simulation, you will create a new People Record. From the Front Desk screen enter the People screen.

The People screen shows a list of everyone entered into the system that is not a client or a user of the software. To create a new person record, select Add a New Record.

Albert Allan, a client at the shelter, gives his mother-in-law, Emma Goldman, as his emergency contact.

Enter the following basic information: Emma Goldman is a woman born on June 15, 1962.

More details can then be added to the record.

Emma lives at: 140 Murray Street, Lillooet, British Columbia.

Open the Identification tab to enter more information about Emma Goldman.

Select Allan Albert from the Client Search screen to indicate that she is related to him, and select Mother-in-law in the Relationship field.

Emma was born in the former U.S.S.R., but she is a Canadian citizen.

She is acting as an emergency contact for her son-in-law. This can also be indicated in Allan's record once Emma's record has been created.

Double-check the accuracy of the information before saving and exiting.

You have successfully created a new People record. This is the end of the simulation.
