Making a Bed Inactive
When booking in families with children, it may sometimes be necessary to move single clients out of one room into another room to keep a family together.
You may also need to make an extra bed in a room containing two family members temporarily inactive to ensure families don’t end up with a stranger in the room. Making beds temporarily inactive also helps your shelter to provide accurate information about your occupancy rate.
Step by Step: Making a bed inactive
- Place the family in a room together
- Right click on the extra bed and select Make Inactive – Sharing – Family
- Exit from the window
HIFIS has a special activity log which gives you a record of the changes you have made. You can print this off and use it to follow up with all clients impacted by the changes.
Select the button Log of Changes Made in this Session to display the Log of Changes Made in this session.
