TranscriptWelcome to the Turning Away a Client demonstration. You will learn how to record an instance when you cannot offer shelter to a client.
From the Reception screen, select the client that is being turned away. Note that only clients not currently book-in can be turned away. Select the Turnaways button.
When adding a turnaway record, it is mandatory to enter the date and time that the client was turned away. Check that the correct Service Provider is selected.
It is also mandatory to select the reason the client was turned away.
Enter any further comments about the turnaway record, and ensure that everything is correct before saving the record.
After the Turnaway record is saved, you can select the Check Bed Availability Online button. Selecting this button will open an internet browser and provide you with a list of shelters that publish bed availability in both your region and your province. This list will also show the number of available beds in each shelter. This will allow you to refer the client to another shelter if your shelter is full. Note that this is only available if your administrator has chosen to publish bed availability.
This is the end of the Turning Away a Client demonstration.
