Funding: Regional projects - Rural and remote homelessness
Rural and remote homelessness
As a result of Budget 2016, the Rural and Remote Homelessness funding stream no longer gives priority to non-designated communities with a population of less than 25,000.
This increase in flexibility will provide opportunities for more communities across the country to access funding.
The Rural and Remote Homelessness funding stream is available to all non-designated communities.
Non-designated communities include any community outside of the 61 that receive funding through the Designated communities funding stream.
Who can apply?
Organizations in non-designated communities can apply, regardless of the size of the community's population.
Applicants must demonstrate that the proposed project meets a need in the community and has broad community support. Cost-matching by community partners is not required, although partnerships are encouraged. In addition, projects selected for funding must not create a dependence on, or expectation for, ongoing funding.
Projects must also meet the terms and conditions of the Homelessness Partnering Strategy.
