“While my position may simply be ‘Junior Policy Analyst’, I feel as though I am making an important contribution in the fight against climate change.”

Jacob Rivard has worked with Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) for over 2 years in the Federal-Provincial-Territorial Engagement and Relations Division of the Climate Change Branch. Jacob works closely with federal, provincial and territorial partners on actions like tracking jurisdictional actions related to, and drafting publications in support of, the Pan-Canadian Framework on Clean Growth and Climate Change. The Pan-Canadian Framework on Clean Growth and Climate Change is Canada’s plan to meet its emissions reduction targets, grow the economy, and build resilience in a changing climate. In his role, Jacob also supports Canada’s representatives on initiatives under the Climate Change Committee of the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment.

Throughout Jacob’s time working at ECCC, he has found the environment to be warm and welcoming. “The people I have encountered and work with are selfless, dedicated public servants, who truly care about their work, especially as it relates to climate change.”
