Meet Jessica Leung! 

Since 2018, Jessica has worked in British Columbia, providing administrative support to her team with Environmental Enforcement at Environment and Climate Change Canada.   Having explored many careers, Jessica has found one that fits her lifestyle and satisfies her curious nature.  Jessica is pleased with the openness the Department has shown in providing responsibilities and training that go beyond her core role.

  • What was your first job? Zero Waste Ambassador at Simon Fraser University
  • If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be? The South Pacific. Specifically Fiji & Makatea.
  • What is your favourite game or sport to watch and play? Figure skating.
  • Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse, or drive a car? Ride a horse, hands down.
  • If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Shepherd’s pie.
  • What are your hobbies?
    • Arts and crafts
    • Outrigger canoeing
    • Logistically and physically challenging multi-day wilderness trips (ie, involve two or more modes of transport or types of non-motorized activities – climbing, backpacking, biking, and/or kayaking)
  • What is your favourite flavour of ice cream? Matcha.
  • How many pairs of shoes do you own? 10+. I need water shoes, hiking boots, running shoes, work shoes, sandals, flats, and can’t do without backups … do ice skates and rollerblades count?
  • If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have? Ability to find and heal anyone.
  • What's your favourite zoo animal? Raptors.
  • What's your favourite fast food chain? In-N-Out Burger.
  • Where do you see yourself in 10 years? A little wrinklier with more ridiculous stories and sports injuries than ever.
