“I work to foster greater environmental, economic and social sustainability in Canada for current and future generations, including my two daughters.”

Meet Dr. Zainab Moghal! After working for many years in the environmental field with industry, the public sector and with community and Indigenous groups (including in Northern Canada and abroad), Zainab joined Environment and Climate Change Canada in 2018. Starting as a subject matter expert, Zainab worked with the Adaptation Policy Team to advise on and support the development of federal climate change adaptation and resilience policy.

Since 2020, Zainab has been with the Canadian Centre for Climate Services (CCCS). In her current role, she assists diverse stakeholders to access, interpret and utilize climate information, with the goal of supporting adaptation to climate change.

Zainab is passionate about fostering sustainability for future generations, including embracing opportunities to educate school-aged children on climate change action. “Engaging youth promotes a better understanding of such a complex topic and ultimately leads to positive environmental action.”
