Information on COVID-19

Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Biosphere is closed until further notice.

We are closely monitoring the situation and will update the public of any changes regarding our activities.

Visiting hours

10 am to 5 pm

The ticket office closes at 4:15 pm.

Entrance fees

Entrance fees (taxes not included)

Adults: $15
Seniors (65 and older): $12
Students (18 and older): $10
Youth (17 and under): free

  • 25% discount on presentation of an entrance fee from Stewart Museum
  • Discount for visitors with Montréal Museums passes, Accès Montréal card or Cultural Access Pass
  • 20% discount on admission fees for one adult when you show proof of purchase for one adult for the Aquatic Complex (May 17 to September 2, 2019)

Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

Please note that the Biosphere no longer admits organized groups.

Montréal Museums Passes

As a member of the Société des musées de Montréal, the Biosphere is among the major Montréal museums and attractions subscribing to and selling the Montréal Museums Pass. Three different passes are available:

  • Montreal Museums Pass - 3 days (with public transit)
  • Montreal Museums Pass - 3 days (without public transit)
  • Montreal Museums Prestige Pass - 1 year

Cultural Access Pass

The Biosphere participates in the Cultural Access Pass (CAP), which engages new citizens in cultural experiences through complimentary access to participating institutions in their region. Registering for a CAP gives each new citizen (18 years of age or older) and up to four of their dependent minor children complimentary admission to participating institutions for one year from the day they receive their citizenship.

How to get to the Biosphere

By metro: The best way to come the Biosphere, is by metro! The entrance is a 3-minute walk away from Jean-Drapeau station (Yellow Line)

By bike: From the South Shore of Montréal or downtown, take the bike path on Jacques-Cartier Bridge. From the Old Port of Montréal, take the Concorde Bridge. Bixis are also available on the island.

By car

On the Jacques-Cartier Bridge:

From Montréal:

  1. Take the exit for La Ronde/Parc Jean-Drapeau
  2. Follow the signs to the Biosphere

From Longueuil:

  1. Take the exit for La Ronde/Parc Jean-Drapeau
  2. Follow the signs to the Biosphère

On the Bonaventure Expressway (from downtown, via University Street):

  1. Take exit 2 (Pierre-Dupuy Avenue/Port of Montréal)
  2. Follow the signs to Parc Jean-Drapeau
  3. On the Concorde Bridge, at the first stop, turn right (Macdonald Road)
  4. Continue till you see the Biosphere sign, then turn left
By river shuttle: During the summer, check the routes, the schedule and rates.
