Reporting environmental effects monitoring data and reports
Facilities regulated under the Pulp and Paper Effluent Regulations (PPER) and Metal and Diamond Mining Effluent Regulations (MDMER) have to submit their Environmental Effects Monitoring (EEM) data and reports electronically.
1. Mine Effluent Reporting System (MDMER only)
The Mine Effluent Reporting System (MERS) allows regulatees and their consultants to report their effluent characterization and water quality monitoring data, including sublethal toxicity testing results, required under the MDMER Schedule 5 Part 1. Access to MERS is through ECCC’s Single Window website. Additional information on MERS and on where to submit information required under the MDMER can be found by contacting MPD.
2. Environmental Effects Monitoring Electronic Reporting System
The Environmental Effects Monitoring Electronic Reporting (EEMER) system allows regulatees and their consultants to submit EEM data and reports, as well as create, edit and view their reports. Data and reports for the sublethal toxicity (SLT) testing required under the PPER and the biological monitoring studies required under both the PPER and MDMER have to be submitted using EEMER. Access to EEMER is through ECCC’s Single Window website. Test results and raw data are entered directly into EEMER, while SLT laboratory reports and biological monitoring study designs and interpretive reports are uploaded in PDF format. Additional information, including a user’s guide for the EEMER system can be found by contacting EEM.
For further and more detailed explanations, please refer to our user guide here.
Contact EEM for questions or comments regarding EEMER or contact MPD for questions or comments regarding MERS.
