Summary
In 2019, the Prairie Region reported the largest quantity of releases to the National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI), contributing to 45% of total Canadian pollutant releases to air, water and land. The Québec and Ontario Region also contributed significantly, reporting 34% of the pollutants released to air, water and land in 2019.
