Timeline for pollution prevention planning, sampling and reporting for reaction products of 2-propanone with diphenylamine (PREPOD)

Persons that are subject to the notice can use the timeline below as a visual aid. The diagram provides information on the mandatory deadlines to prepare and implement a pollution prevention plan and deadlines to submit reports to the Government of Canada. The diagram also provides information on the different sampling periods.

Line 1:           

  • Milestone 0: 0 months or January 1, 2020, followed by increments at 6 months or July 1, 2020, 12 months or January 1, 2021, 18 months or July 1, 2021, 24 months or January 1, 2022, 30 months or July 1, 2022, 36 months or January 1, 2023, and finishing at 42 months or July 1, 2023
  • Footnote 1 explains that the increments in months corresponds to the number of months after becoming subject to the notice, and applies to persons who become subject to the notice on or after January 1, 2020
  • Footnote 2 explains that the fixed dates apply to persons who become subject to the Notice before January 1, 2020

Line 2:           

  • Period between 0 and 12 months: first sampling event
  • Period between 12 months to 24 months: second sampling event
  • Period between 24 months to 36 months: third sampling event

Line 3:

  • Period to prepare the P2 plan (18 months): month 0 to month 18
  • Period to implement the P2 plan (24 months): month 18 to month 42       

Line 4:

  • Milestone 0: date after which the 1st sampling event can occur
  • Milestone 18 months: deadline to prepare the P2 plan (submit the Declaration of Preparation within 30 days after the end of that period, including results from the 1st sampling event)
  • Milestone 30 months: submit interim progress report (including results from the 2nd sampling event)
  • Milestone 42 months: deadline to implement the P2 plan (submit Declaration of Implementation within 30 days after the end of that period, including results from the 3rd sampling event)
