2018 Progress Report on the Federal Sustainable Development Strategy

The 2018 Progress Report on the 2016 to 2019 Federal Sustainable Development Strategy (the strategy) details how, after 2 years of effort by 41 federal departments and agencies, the Government of Canada is progressing in implementing the Strategy. It shows where the Government of Canada is achieving its targets and where more work is needed.

For each of the 13 goals set out in the Strategy, this report indicates:

  • why the goal is important
  • the overall progress toward the targets
  • detailed results for targets and milestones, and the key actions taken
  • information on the risks and challenges
  • examples of innovative work outside the federal government and
  • linkages with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and other international agreements and initiatives
