The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) draws on expert advice provided by advisory groups.
The Agency is creating two new advisory committees over the coming months. They are the Technical Advisory Committee on Science and Knowledge and the Indigenous Advisory Committee.
Both committees will provide valuable expert advice for the transition to the proposed new impact assessment system, if approved by Parliament.
Currently, the Minister and the Agency receive advice from a Multi-Interest Advisory Committee established as part of the review of environmental assessment processes. Comprised of representatives from industry, environmental groups, Indigenous organizations, and provincial and territorial governments, it advises on regulatory and policy issues.
