Government of Canada Invests to Help Enhance Nipigon’s Royal Canadian Legion Hall

April 7, 2017 – Nipigon, ON – Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario - FedNor

The Government of Canada is investing $5,000 to help Royal Canadian Legion Branch 32 make enhancements to the Legion Hall in Nipigon. The Legion Hall, run by volunteers, is a gathering place for Nipigon veterans and community members at large, and is used extensively to host a variety of meetings and celebratory events.

The Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour, and Member of Parliament for Thunder Bay—Superior North, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and Minister responsible for FedNor, today announced this Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program investment. The funding will assist with renovations to the building, including interior painting and improvements to the facility’s washrooms.
