Government of Canada Invests to Help Shawanaga First Nation Explore Business Opportunities

April 18, 2017 – Parry Sound, ON – Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario - FedNor 

The Government of Canada is investing $27,000 to help Shawanaga First Nation determine the feasibility of a multi-use business centre to service its members. Among other things, the study will examine the concept of a business incubator, training centre and rental space for private sector businesses.

The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and Minister responsible for FedNor, today announced the Northern Ontario Development Program funding. The business development centre is an option that the First Nation is considering to take advantage of significant traffic along Highway 69 and employment opportunities related to the roadway expansion.
