Government of Canada helps scale up agri-food businesses to support culinary tourism and job opportunities

April 6, 2018 – Huntsville, ON – Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario - FedNor

To support the growth of agri-food businesses that are ready to expand, the Government of Canada is investing $399,200 to enable the Muskoka North Good Food Co-operative to develop a local/regional food distribution system that will increase sales for 75 Northern and local agri-food business suppliers.

The funding was announced today by the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for FedNor.

Specifically, the initiative will assist with the addition of a commercial kitchen that will support the creation of new food concepts and value-added products, as well as provide business development, market access and promotional support.
