Enhancements to the Sault Ste. Marie Airport Development Corporation’s industrial park will pave the way for new businesses to establish roots in the city. A Government of Canada investment of $1.8 million will enable the corporation to upgrade and extend services at its industrial park. Specifically, the FedNor funding will assist with water, sewer and electrical infrastructure improvements. The expansion is required to support the growth of the park, which in turn, will improve the airport’s overall sustainability.

• The funding announced today is provided through FedNor’s Northern Ontario Development Program  which supports strong and sustainable communities, enhanced business growth, and new opportunities for economic development and diversification.

• Since 2016 and through successive budgets, the Government of Canada has earmarked an additional $62 million for FedNor in support of various initiatives to enable the organization to further strengthen Northern Ontario’s economy and create even more middle-class jobs for Canadians.
