Minister Ng meets with Singapore’s Minister for Trade and Industry

Yesterday, the Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business and Economic Development, met with Gan Kim Yong, Singapore’s Minister for Trade and Industry in Singapore.
Minister Ng highlighted the recent release of Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy and Canada’s interest in continuing to develop its trade and investment relationships with the Indo-Pacific region, and with Singapore.
During their meeting, the Ministers also agreed to begin a dialogue on cooperation in the green economy, including with the private sector.
Minister Ng reiterated Canada’s strong interest in joining and meaningfully contributing to the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF).
Both Minister Ng an and Minister Gan discussed the importance of upholding strong rules based trade by working together through the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans Pacific Partnership, and multilateral forums like the Ottawa Group.
