Announcement of new diplomatic appointments

August 13, 2024 - Ottawa, Ontario - Global Affairs Canada

The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced the following diplomatic appointments:

Emily Burns becomes High Commissioner in the United Republic of Tanzania. Ms. Burns replaces Kyle Nunas.

Véronique Pepin-Hallé becomes Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, in Vienna, Austria. Ms. Pepin-Hallé replaces Jocelyn Kinnear.

Pasquale Salvaggio becomes High Commissioner in the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Permanent Representative of Canada to the Economic Community of West African States. Mr. Salvaggio replaces James Christoff.

Stewart Wheeler becomes Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Argentine Republic. Mr. Wheeler replaces Reid Sirrs.
