Minister Anand to meet with South Korean Presidential Special Envoy for Canada

Tomorrow, the Honourable Anita Anand, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will meet with Kim Byung Joo, South Korean Presidential Special Envoy for Canada, and National Assembly members Maeng Sung-kyu and Kim Ju-young in Ottawa to deepen Canada-Republic of Korea cooperation as strategic partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
Canada and the Republic of Korea share a common vision for the Indo-Pacific region to be more secure, free and prosperous. Minister Anand will discuss Canada’s commitment to deepening cooperation with South Korea on shared priorities, including energy security, critical minerals and defence cooperation.
Canada looks forward to building on the Canada-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Action Plan and to advancing shared priorities during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum in October 2025.
