Ministers Anand and Champagne to travel to Mexico to deepen Canada-Mexico ties

The Honourable Anita Anand, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Finance and National Revenue, will travel to Mexico City, Mexico from August 5 to 6, 2025 for a bilateral visit aimed at strengthening Canada’s strategic partnership with Mexico.
While in Mexico, Minister Anand and Minister Champagne will meet with President Claudia Sheinbaum and their respective counterparts to advance key shared priorities, including economic growth, security and trade. This visit will also serve to strengthen bilateral dialogue in anticipation of Prime Minister Carney’s upcoming visit to Mexico.
As part of ongoing efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation and advance shared economic interests, Minister Anand and Minister Champagne will meet with a large group of Canadian and Mexican business leaders, including key players supporting North America’s integrated economy, trade infrastructure and supply chains.
Minister Anand will also meet with members of Mexico’s Senate to further parliamentary relations between our countries.
