Living Digital n.m. [ ˈlɪvɪŋ ˈdɪʤɪtəl ]
To embrace and embody modern ideas, practices, and approaches in the 21st century, within the context of the Government of Canada (GC).
The term “digital,” in Living Digital, goes beyond its traditional definition of technology and gadgets; it represents the concept of “digital” as an integrated element of modern living.
Picture this: Us, Living Digital, sitting at our local coffee shop chatting with you, our friend, about a cool initiative or idea we heard about, over a cup of coffee. The friendly, casual tone complemented by the aroma of freshly ground coffee beans and the chill, ambient music fading into the background as we talk excitedly about new endeavours and ideas materializing among us: that’s what we want our page to feel like.
At Living Digital, we’re storytellers. We chat with public servants across the GC: the people with the progressive ideas, the ones working on forward-thinking endeavours, and we write their stories of triumph, trial, delivery, and experience. We believe that there are countless initiatives and ideas across the GC that deserve to be shared and highlighted; countless stories of the public servants behind them to tell and to inspire—and we set out to write those stories.
So sit back, pour a cup of coffee–or whatever beverage suits your style–and enjoy the stories we’ve written of our colleagues doing brilliant things across the GC.

The resident graphic designer
Isabelle has the power to turn absolutely anything into an exciting visual that is easy on the eyes. Her teammates describe her as having an up-for-anything attitude no matter how long her to-do list may be. They also say her presentation voice is so impeccable they wouldn’t mind if she narrated their lives.
Emmanuel Kardaras
One of the writers aka ‘that public servant’
Mano’s teammates say that (to their detriment) he is the king of dad jokes. With his always professional presence, he doubles as a speechwriter extraordinaire. His teammates say he’s the one they would call to write their Academy Award acceptance speeches, should that day ever come, hold the dad jokes.
Laura Ferguson
Everyone’s favourite jr. comms advisor/extreme organizer
Laura is always smiling and sweet, rain or shine. Her teammates describe her as reliable and a joy to work with; give her any task and she’ll make magic happen. Rumour has it she was the only one on the team who successfully maintained a calm, cool, and collected demeanour behind-the-scenes of the iconic Living Digital event that took place in 2019.
Elaine (Ella) Edache
The calmest communications advisor there ever was
Ella is known for her calm demeanour, perhaps thanks to her twice-a-day-hour-long HIIT workouts. Her teammates say she greets all work that arrives at her desk with enthusiasm and they know they can count on her to bring fresh new ideas. Her teammates are also grateful that although not a part of gen z, Ella is in the know on gen z vocab and keeps them hip.
