Departmental Resource Management Directorate
The Departmental Resource Management Directorate (DRMD) is responsible for managing financial resources at the department-wide level. It supports the Chief Financial Officer, the Deputy Minister, and the Minister to ensure efficient, effective, and prudent management of resources in pursuit of government and departmental priorities. The core functions of the Directorate are to provide expert advice on budgeting, forecasting, and financial management strategies; and to ensure sound resource planning through functional support for the development of Treasury Board submissions and Memoranda to Cabinet.
- Providing strategic resource management advice to departmental senior management as well as to program managers, planners and financial officers;
- Developing the Main and Supplementary Estimates, the interim Supply, and the Annual reference Level Update;
- Directing the strategic financial component of the Departmental Strategic Plan; and
- Providing professional support and coordinating functional reviews in the development / approval of Treasury Board Submissions and Memoranda to Cabinet for Health Canada.
