Title of Regulatory Initiative
Regulations Amending the Agriculture and Agri-Food Administrative Monetary Penalties Regulations Respecting the Pest Control Products Act and Regulations (Incident Reports)
Agriculture and Agri-Food Administrative Monetary Penalties Act
To align the Agriculture and Agri-Food Administrative Monetary Penalties Regulations Respecting the Pest Control Products Act and Regulations with the amended Pest Control Products Incident Reporting Regulations.
Regulatory cooperation efforts (domestic and international)
Since these amendments are consequential in nature, and relate to domestic enforcement only, no regulatory cooperation efforts were required.
Potential impacts on Canadians, including businesses
These amendments will assist Health Canada in encouraging and promoting compliance with the Pest Control Products Incident Reporting Regulations, which, in turn, will benefit the health of Canadians and the environment.
There are no additional costs to industry for implementing these amendments.
In spring 2018, as a component of the consultation on the proposed amendments to the Pest Control Products Incident Reporting Regulations, industry stakeholders were notified that these amendments would be made to align the two regulations.
The publication of the amendments to the regulations in the Canada Gazette, Part II, is expected to take place in spring 2019.
