Description of the objective
The purpose of the proposed Vaping Product Promotion Regulations would be to prevent the public from being deceived or misled with respect to the health hazards of using vaping products.
The proposed regulations would set out a selection of authorized statements regarding the health risks of vaping products by comparing the health effects arising from the use of the products or from its emissions.

The proposed regulation would impact vaping product manufacturers, importers and retailers as they will be able to use statements that compare the health effects of vaping product use and tobacco use in their vaping promotions.
Health Canada published a consultation document on August 25, 2017, setting out proposals to regulate vaping products in Canada. The consultation closed on October 27, 2017.
Canadians will have the opportunity to provide comments on the regulatory proposal during the Canada Gazette, Part I public comment period, which is expected to take place in winter 2020 and last 75 days.
