Response to Comments Received on PMRL Consultation for Imazapic (PMRL2014-32)

A comment was received requesting that the Pest Management Regulatory Agency consider revising the residue definition for enforcement for imazapic from imazapic plus metabolite M715H001 to imazapic only.

Response from the Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA)

Following the review of the sugarcane MRL request, another petition was received by the PMRA to support an MRL on imported soybeans. Based on the review of the metabolism data on four diverse crops, the residue definition for enforcement was determined to be imazapic only.

As such, the MRL for imazapic as proposed in PMRL2014-32, was revised to 0.01 ppm and is being consulted upon under PMRL2015-56.
