Response to Comments Received on PMRL Consultation for Cyantraniliprole (PMRL2016-26)
Notice to the reader:

A comment was received requesting that the Pest Management Regulatory Agency continues to apply the existing maximum residue limit (MRL) of 4 ppm for Crop Subgroup 13-07B in lieu of proposing a new value for lowbush blueberries and lingonberries using the Crop Subgroup 13-07H, except strawberries.
Response from the Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA)
Following the review of the data that formed the basis of the Crop Subgroup 13-07B MRL, including lowbush blueberry and lingonberry, it was noted that the 4 ppm MRL was based on the crop field trial data for blueberries to permit the registration of the end-use product on various crop groups including Bushberries, as described in PMRL2013-42. The proposed MRL of 0.08 ppm, for low growing berries except strawberries (Crop Subgroup 13-07H), is based on crop field trial data for cranberries to support the registration of the same product, albeit for the control of different pests and on Crop Subgroup 13-07H, which also includes lowbush blueberries and lingonberries.
In light of this (i.e., two Crop Subgroups that include lowbush blueberries and lingonberries), the MRL Database will continue to only capture the existing MRL of 4 ppm for lowbush blueberries and lingonberries, which was established on December 2, 2013 and consulted via PMRL2013-42.
