Consultation on p-Menthane-3,8-diol and Its Associated End-use Products, Proposed Re-evaluation Decision PRVD2021-14
Notice to the reader:
The online consultation is now closed.
Health Canada is consulting Canadians on the proposal to continue registration of p-menthane-3,8-diol and associated end-use products registered for sale and use in Canada. No additional risk mitigation measures are proposed.
Products containing p-menthane-3,8-diol are applied as personal insect repellents to repel mosquitoes, biting midges, blackflies and ticks. Human health risks from the use of p-menthane-3,8-diol products were shown to be acceptable, when used according to current label directions. p-Menthane-3,8-diol has value as an personal insect repellent by providing an additional choice for mosquito, biting midges, ticks and blackfly repellent users.
For a full list of products containing p-Menthane-3,8-diol, please consult Appendix I in the Proposed Re-evaluation Decision or visit the Pesticide Label Search database.
For more information on the proposed decision open the “Proposed Re-evaluation Decision”.
