ARCHIVED - New Registration Activities
Summary
The PMRA New Registration Activities report is a summary of registration decisions concerning new active ingredients, their associated end-use products, new uses for currently registered active ingredients, and emergency registrations made by Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) during the current fiscal year. This was initiated in 2006 to meet the goals of a more open and transparent pesticide regulatory system, and is updated on a regular basis.
The PMRA New Registration Activities report is published in a table format that summarizes each registration decision, including:
- Pesticide product's name;
- Registration number under the Pest Control Products Act;
- Registrant;
- Pesticide type (e.g., insecticide);
- Specific site or host (where and on what the pesticide can be applied); and
- date on which the certificate of registration was issued.
The tables also identify both the major and minor crop uses registered. Detailed label information can be obtained from the product label system.

- 1A: Summary of the Number of New Uses Registered
- 1B: Summary of the Number of New Active Ingredients Registered and their Associated New Uses
- Table 2: Listing of Conventional Chemical, Biopesticide and Antimicrobial Registrations
- Table 3: Detailed Summary of Conventional Chemical, Biopesticide Antimicrobial Registrations
- Table 4: Listing of Emergency Registrations
Notes:
- A "new use" is defined as a new host/site to the registered use pattern for the active ingredient listed
- The overall total number of new uses includes new non-crop uses which cannot otherwise be classified as major or minor crop uses (e.g., forestry, roadsides).
- Table 2 row shading is indicative of new active ingredient registrations and associated products.
- The summary numbers of new uses excludes emergency registrations.
- PMRA's fiscal year begins on April 1st of the current calendar year and ends March 31st of the following year.
