New website for health product shortages
Drug Establishment Licensing Bulletin 193, January 22, 2026
The website for mandatory reporting of drug shortages and discontinuations by regulated parties has changed to Health Product Shortages Canada. All traffic from the old website is currently being redirected to the new website for a period of time.
This change took place on January 18, 2026.
For public users, the website is still the same.
For users with accounts and for mobile access, there are some changes, however.
The changes include:
- email notifications
- updated mobile application
- mandatory password resets
- updated API data extraction instructions
Email notifications
All website-generated email notifications will be sent from a new email address: do-not-reply@healthproductshortages.ca. Add this new email address to your list of trusted senders list to avoid missing important notifications.
Updated mobile application
The mobile application will be renamed to Health Product Shortages Canada. If you have the Drug Shortages Canada app installed on your mobile device, you will be prompted to update it.
The updated app is also available for download in both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
Mandatory password resets
As a user, you must complete a password reset before you can log in to your account on the new website. After this, you will have to reset your password every 90 days.
Instructions for the password reset:
- Go to the Log in page and select the I've forgotten my password link.
- Enter your account email and select the "Request new password" button.
- Check your email (including your spam or junk folder) for the password reset email.
- In the password reset email, select the link provided and from the webpage that opens, create a new password and select the "Change password" button.
- Log in using your new password.
Updated API data extraction instructions
The new website has an updated application programming interface (API) to make it easier to extract data. Check out the details.
Reprogram your API connections to ensure uninterrupted service.
