Changes made to List of Certain Non-prescription Drugs for Distribution as Samples (List D): Notice
Date: November 16 , 2022
The Natural and Non-prescription Health ProductsDirectorate (NNHPD) has amended List D: List of Certain Non-prescription Drugs for Distribution as Samples. This change takes effect on November 16, 2022.
Health Canada informed the public and stakeholders that we intended to modify List D through a notice of proposal on August 11, 2020. After a 60-day comment period, we reviewed all comments received.
Within the product classes set out in the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement, Health Canada has expanded List D. The list now includes all approved ingredients, quantities and uses or purposes, with the exception of medicated skin care products.
The following product classes are covered:
- sunscreens
- toothpastes
- mouthwashes
- antiperspirants
- throat lozenges
- diaper-rash products
- anti-dandruff products
- acne therapy products
- athlete's foot products
- anti-septic skin cleansers
- medicated skin care products
