Background

The purpose of this consultation is to solicit feedback on the Food Directorate's proposed management of pre-market submissions for food additives, infant formulas and novel foods pursuant to requirements of the Food and Drug Regulations. The consultation document provides information on proposed activities and timelines related to the management of submissions. With this proposed management of pre-market submissions, the Food Directorate intends to improve the timeliness, predictability and transparency of the submission process.

Those wishing to make comments or seek clarification on this proposal are invited to contact the Food Directorate's Bureau of Chemical Safety.
