Assistance available for refugees

This section contains policy, procedures and guidance used by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada staff. It is posted on the Department’s website as a courtesy to stakeholders.

This section contains in-Canada guidelines and procedures related to:

  • the Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP) available to Government-Assisted Refugees (GARs);
  • Private Sponsorship of Refugees (PSR) Program and Visa Office-Referred (VOR) cases; and
  • Joint Assistance Sponsorship (JAS) Program.
  • Health assistance

Note: This section complements the “Resettlement from overseas” section, which contains guidelines for processing applications from refugees abroad.
