Atlantic Immigration Pilot – Marcia Snow
Marcia Snow of Citco Financial Services in Halifax, Nova Scotia, explains how the company uses the Atlantic Immigration Pilot (AIP) to hire qualified workers for jobs they can’t fill locally. The AIP is an innovative partnership that aims to attract and retain skilled immigrants and international graduates to meet the unique workforce needs of the Atlantic region.

Marcia Snow: A majority of our employees do come through an immigration process.

Marcia Snow: We hire a number of new grads that are currently on a post-grad work permit or we also look to foreign nationals to provide a skillset that we can’t find locally.

Marcia Snow: The AIP has been a benefit in a number of ways for us. It allows us to support our employees in getting their permanent residence (PR) more quickly than other streams that we’ve seen in the past and that, in turn, allows our employees to settle faster both, you know, in the office and in the community.
