Cheryl Yost is well-placed to support improvements to First Nations health. She is currently fulfilling a lifelong dream of working as a First Nations and Inuit Health Branch employed Community Health Nurse and Nurse in Charge at Sandy Lake Nursing Station in remote northern Ontario.

Cheryl uses trust, respect, fairness and advocacy to guide decision-making in both her professional and personal life. She believes it is necessary to treat all team members, including the patient, family and community, as the most important assets. Cheryl Yost is a recipient of the 2018 National Award for Excellence in Nursing.
