Minister of Health to highlight major investment in health research

Québec City, August 18 – Canadian Institutes of Health Research
The Honourable Jane Philpott, Minister of Health, and Joël Lightbound, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Health, will be visiting the CHU de Québec – Laval University Research Centre to announce funding in research projects aimed at improving the health of people with HIV/AIDS, and to highlight investments in research on conditions such as heart disease, asthma and cancer.
A lab tour will take place following this announcement in the Infectious Disease Research Center, which is dedicated to the study of infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections.
Media are invited to speak with the Minister, Parliamentary Secretary, researchers, participate in the lab tour, and take photos and video.
