The Canadian International Trade Tribunal and the Office of the Procurement Ombudsman Agree on a Memorandum of Understanding

Ottawa, Ontario, October 1, 2020—The Office of the Procurement Ombudsman (OPO) and the Canadian International Trade Tribunal today agreed on a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The MOU aims at facilitating suppliers’ access to the complaint review mechanisms administered by both organizations. It also provides for continued cooperation between the OPO and the Tribunal. More information on the MOU is available on the Tribunal’s website.
The Tribunal is an independent quasi-judicial body that reports to Parliament through the Minister of Finance. It hears cases on dumped and subsidized imports, safeguard complaints, complaints about federal government procurement and appeals of customs and excise tax rulings. When requested by the federal government, the Tribunal also provides advice on other economic, trade and tariff matters.
