Minister Mihychuk discusses flexible work arrangements with provincial and territorial labour ministers

Following up on her commitment to strengthen partnerships between federal, provincial and territorial governments, the Honourable MaryAnn Mihychuk, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour, met with provincial and territorial labour ministers via videoconference earlier today.

The ministers talked about the need to provide Canadians with more flexible work arrangements to help balance home and work responsibilities. They also discussed opportunities for collaboration and the possibility of adopting similar approaches in their respective jurisdictions. Minister Mihychuk also spoke about her plans for consulting with Canadians on the subject, promising to share the results with her provincial and territorial counterparts. 

Other items on the agenda included international labour issues and opportunities to harmonize certain federal, provincial and territorial health and safety regulations.
