Public invited to meet with Ministerial Panel for Trans Mountain Pipeline Expansion Project

OTTAWA – The Trans Mountain Pipeline Expansion Project (TMX) Ministerial Panel has been tasked by Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources, the Honourable Jim Carr, to engage with local communities, stakeholders, and Indigenous groups, to seek additional views that could be relevant to the Government’s final decision on the project.

The Panel, composed of Ms. Kim Baird, Mr. Tony Penikett and Dr. Annette Trimbee, is holding public meetings along the proposed TMX pipeline and marine corridors throughout July and August.

Meetings are taking place in:

Kamloops: July 19, 20
Chilliwack: July 21
Abbotsford: July 26
Langley: July 27, 28
Burnaby: August 9, 10, 11
Vancouver: August 16, 17, 18
North Vancouver: August 19
Victoria: August 23, 24

Once its engagement activities are completed, the Panel’s work will conclude in November with a report to Minister Carr, which will be made public.

In addition to the Panel’s engagement activities, the Government of Canada is continuing to consult directly with Indigenous peoples.
