First Official Discussion Between Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources, the Honourable Jim Carr, and United States Secretary of Energy Rick Perry

Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources, the Honourable Jim Carr, held an introductory phone call today with the new U.S. Secretary of Energy, Rick Perry. 

Minister Carr and Secretary Perry discussed areas of common interest between Canada and the United States, including energy trade, investment and jobs, energy security, cross-border infrastructure, and cybersecurity.

Minister Carr also highlighted our two countries’ highly integrated energy systems and infrastructure.

Minister Carr and Secretary Perry will meet face to face in Washington in the coming weeks.
