Parliamentary Secretary Rudd to Promote Canadian Trade and Investment in Nevada

OTTAWA — Kim Rudd, Parliamentary Secretary to Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources, the Honourable Jim Carr, will join Canada’s Consul General (Los Angeles) in a program aimed at engaging Nevada legislators and decision-makers on March 16 in Carson City, Nevada.
Parliamentary Secretary Rudd will meet with Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval, state legislators and industry leaders to convey Canada’s importance to Nevada as a trade and investment partner. Ms. Rudd will participate in a mining roundtable with academics, industry associations and Canadian investors and attend a Canada Day reception at the Governor’s residence.
Trade and investment with Canada account for close to 83,000 jobs and US$2.4 billion in exports annually in Nevada. Canada’s mining companies are significant investors in Nevada’s economy as well as key job creators, employing approximately 5,000 people in the state.
