OTTAWA — Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources, the Honourable Jim Carr, will travel to Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from October 23 to 25, 2017, on behalf of Minister of Finance Bill Morneau to promote trade and investment.

In Dubai, Minister Carr will deliver a keynote address to the Emirati business community to convey that Canada is an open and attractive place to invest and do business. He will also attend the Water, Technology and Environment Exhibition 2017 (WETEX), which showcases the latest developments in conventional and renewable energy.

Minister Carr will participate in the inaugural edition of the Future Investment Initiative in Riyadh, a new global business and investment forum. The event is expected to attract more than 2,000 business leaders, members of the international investor community, and top Saudi government decision-makers.

While in Saudi Arabia, Minister Carr will also meet with Khalid AlKhudair, CEO and founder of Glowork – an organization that aims to empower women and increase diversity in the Saudi workforce.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is embarking on a significant social and economic transformation known as Vision 2030. As part of this strategy, the forum will explore the Kingdom’s investment and trade priorities, as well as the future role it could play through ventures in innovative technology and infrastructure.
