The Honourable Jody Wilson-Raybould, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, is pleased to announce the appointment of 22 Deputy Judges to the Nunavut Court of Justice, the Supreme Court of the Northwest Territories and the Supreme Court of Yukon.

Today, the Honourable Jody Wilson-Raybould, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, began a working visit to Australia that will include meetings with the Prime Minister of Australia, the Attorney General of Australia, other elected officials, Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders of Australia and their leadership, and legal scholars.
The judiciary plays a unique and fundamentally important role in Canada's democracy. Every four years, an independent three-person commission is established to inquire into the adequacy of the compensation and benefits of federally appointed judges and Federal Court prothonotaries.
