Today, Élisabeth Brière, Member of Parliament for Sherbrooke, and the Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau, Minister of National Revenue and Member of Parliament for Compton—Stanstead, announced on behalf of the Honourable Bill Blair, Minister of National Defence, that the Government of Canada has reached a major milestone in its work to preserve and modernize Canadian Armed Forces infrastructure in Sherbrooke, Quebec – as we committed to do in December 2022.


Minister Blair announces establishment of Canadian Military Colleges Review Board

Today, the Honourable Bill Blair, Minister of National Defence, announced the members and mandate of the Canadian Military Colleges Review Board. The Review Board, comprised of five external education and culture experts and two Department of National Defence (DND) / Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members, has one year to make recommendations pertaining to Recommendation 28 and the first part of Recommendation 29 of former Supreme Court of Canada Justice Louise Arbour’s Independent External Comprehensive Review (IECR) Report.

The Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) have confirmed that the grave of a previously unknown First World War soldier in Courcelette British Cemetery in Courcelette, the Somme, France, is that of Company Sergeant-Major Alexander McVean.
