The Honourable Anita Anand, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced that she will travel to Muscat, Sultanate of Oman (Oman), and Doha, State of Qatar (Qatar), from May 12 to 15, 2026, to deepen relations with the two countries, as well as to explore new opportunities for collaboration on shared priorities.

The Honourable Anita Anand, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today concluded her participation in the High-level Meeting of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children, co-hosted by Canada, the European Union and Ukraine, in Brussels, Belgium.
At today’s High-Level Meeting of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children in Brussels, Belgium, the Honourable Anita Anand, Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced that Canada is imposing additional sanctions under the Special Economic Measures (Russia) Regulations in response to the Russian government’s violations of Ukrainian children’s rights.
The Honourable Dominic LeBlanc, President of the King’s Privy Council for Canada and Minister responsible for Canada–U.S. Trade, Intergovernmental Affairs, Internal Trade and One Canadian Economy, and His Excellency Marcelo Ebrard, Secretary of Economy of Mexico, welcomed the successful conclusion of Mexico’s Trade Mission to Canada as a further demonstration of the strength, depth and forward-looking nature of the Canada–Mexico partnership.

Earlier this week, the Honourable Maninder Sidhu, Minister of International Trade, spoke with Majid bin Abdullah Al-Kassabi, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Commerce. Minister Sidhu expressed Canada’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia in the wake of Iran’s unacceptable attacks across the Middle East, including the Gulf States.
