The week of November 1-7 continued to see an increase in the number of newly reported cases of COVID-19 in First Nations communities related to the "second wave" of the pandemic, with 439 new cases reported as of November 12.
In light of the alarming rise in COVID-19 cases in Manitoba, the Government of Canada, in partnerships with Manitoba First Nations and Tribal Councils, is providing $61.4 million in immediate funding to support their response to the pandemic in a number of areas.
The week of October 25-31 saw an increase in the number of new cases of COVID-19 in First Nations communities, with 254 cases reported as of October 31.

The number of positive cases of COVID-19 in Indigenous communities continues to grow. As had been reported by October 21, the weeks of October 4-10 and October 11-17 have seen weekly increases in the number of new cases of COVID-19 in First Nations communities, with 160 new cases reported each week.
